The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians recently needed a large water tower moved on their land. This tower is 160 ft. tall and weight 250,000 lbs empty. They needed a crane service provider who was up for the challenge; that’s when they called Bragg Crane & Rigging.
This job involved moving the water tower a distance of 700 feet to it’s new location. Then it required setting it on the new foundation before welding the legs and riser to the new base plates. To successfully complete this complex job, BC&R contracted with Bragg Crane Service to assist. This assured they were able to do it safely, efficiently, and with no deformation of the tower during the relocation process.
To start, Bragg Crane & Rigging had to precisely cut all 6 supporting legs and the center riser to the same elevation. This was to prepare them for the new base plates in their new location. From there, the Liebherr LR-1750 crawler crane moved the tower to the new foundation and base plates.
This final portion, placing the tower back on its 6 legs and center riser, was a very detailed process. This portion of the job required extreme precision. Our team executed it flawlessly and right on schedule.
